John (Giannis) Pimenides Our founder · Established 1982
Before he made Corpus Christi home, John navigated the world’s trade routes in the merchant marine. Born in Athens on October 17, 1944, he brought a seafarer’s resilience, a craftsman’s ingenuity, and a proud Greek heart to everything he built.
Established in 1982, Lawrence Marine Laundry grew through his hands-on work and determination. Today, his son Paul carries that legacy forward through Lawrence Commercial Linen Services.
Get to know John
The son of Orestis and Eleni (Nitsa) Pimenides, née Paraskevopoulou, John lived a life full of adventure, love, and humor. He was a devoted father, husband, and friend who shared Greek history, traditions, and values with his children.
He collected trains and vintage toys, remembered the smallest details, and always had a joke to share. Stray cats and dogs found food and affection wherever he was—the same kindness captured in these family photographs.
Never afraid to get his hands dirty, he met problems with creativity and determination. In his later years, reconnecting with friends from the AEN Aspropyrgou merchant marine academy brought him great joy.
John passed away at 80. His warmth, humor, and tireless spirit remain part of the family and the business he helped shape.
